Amen - supporting Christian Ministries in developing countries

Gift Aid

This is a scheme open to UK Tax Payers only and enables charities like AMEN to reclaim the basic rate tax paid on a donation from the UK government. This therefore benefits the charity considerably (currently 28p for every £1 donated) and at no cost to the person making the donation.

The standard forms which AMEN  uses for single and regular donations include a declaration at the bottom of the page. We would encourage all UK tax payers to complete this so as to make your donation go further!

If you are making your donation on line using Worldpay then you have an option box which you are asked to complete. There is then no other form to complete and return - since you are providing your address and payment details as part of the on line donation process, this is sufficient to satisfy the new rules introduced by Inland Revenue

Please note the following for all Gift Aid Donations:

1   You can cancel the declaration at any time by notifying us - it will not apply to donations you

make on or after the date of cancellation or such later date as you specify

2   You must pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax that

we reclaim on your donations in the tax year

3   If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief in your Self Assessment tax return

4   If you are unsure whether your donations qualify for Gift Aid tax relief, ask your local tax office

and/or obtain the Inland Revenue leaflet about Gift Aid (IR113)
